The ~always ~ fresh and juicy Le Temps des Fleurs blends Négrette and Cabernet Sauvignon – bold and structured, with rich notes of cassis and plum, plus the signature floral kick of Négrette – think peonies, violets, and roses. We love this wine with a little chill on it.

We love working with @annearbeau ! Anne and her family have been making wine in Fronton since 1878. This small, cool spot on the Tarn River, just 30 miles north of Toulouse, is now run by her and her brother Gérard, who began organically farming to showcase the unique terroir and grapes of the region.

A blend of Pinot Noir and Zinfandel from organically farmed vineyards from along the coast in the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA, allowing for a longer ripening season where the grapes see warmer days and cool evening breezes that help retain freshness. Direct press and spontaneously fermented. Bottled sans soufre, unfiltered, and with natural sugars still present to create delicious effervesence.

Mouth-watering acidity, guava, salted watermelon, and kiwi-skin

This close-knit ecosystem of people—importers and distributors like us, European producers, retailers, and restaurants—depends on one another. We’re deeply concerned about what these tariffs could mean for us and our friends in the community moving forward.

Samantha and Xander Kent are the husband-and-wife team behind @alvearewinery, located on a historic farm estate in Carnation, Washington, with roots dating back to the 1870s. While they’re busy making exceptional wines, Xander also takes care of the bees on their property. The winery draws inspiration from their hives which help polinate the Snoqualmie Valley—“Alveare” means hive in Latin—symbolizing community, teamwork, and living in harmony with nature. Their wine reflects the unique soil, climate, and geography of the region, as well as the efforts of the vineyard workers, winemaking team, and volunteers. Alveare sources grapes from some of the highest elevation vineyards in the state, where the cooler climate leads to slower ripening, resulting in expressive and well-balanced Washington wines.

The new vintage of Sus Scrofa is here! 🐗

‘Sus Scrofa’ or ‘wild boar’ in Latin, is a fresh, vibrant Sumoll from @pardas_vins , a grape nearly lost to time. Sourced from 70-year-old vines and fermented with 50% whole clusters and indigenous yeasts, it delivers tart cranberry, pomegranate, and earthy herbal qualities.

Winemaker Ramón has been dedicated to reviving Sumoll, a variety that fell out of favor due to its tough reputation. He’s spent years selecting the best plots in Catalunya for the grape, carefully grafting vines on his Can Comas property with the right soil and climate. His commitment to the grape is paying off, producing wines that are bright, direct, and super fun to drink.

Frédéric Sigonneau founded Domaine de L’R in 2007 on his family’s estate along the right bank of the Vienne River in the heart of the Chinon appellation. Before this, he spent a few years working at the renowned Domaine Baudry, his neighbor in Cravant near Chinon, before moving to Spain to work for two years on biodynamically farmed, ungrafted vineyards. After studying viticulture in Spain, he returned to the Loire Valley, where he focuses on growing organic Cab Franc from 50-80 year-old vines in soils that historically were the riverbeds of the Vienne. The wines are crafted as minimally as possible with a strong emphasis on expressing the unique terroir of Chinon. In the cellar, Frédéric uses gravity-fed processes (minimal racking) and fermentation takes place in raw cement vats using indigenous yeasts. Sulphites are added only when absolutely necessary.

2023 “Le Canal des Grands Pièces” Traditional Chinon, think dry, dusty, red-fruit, wet rock, good acid and integrated tannins. Fresh yet serious. Pair it with any sort of grilled sausage, lamb, or a tomato and white bean stew.

2022 “Les Cinq Elements” A blend of five different parcels on three different terroirs, bigger red fruits like sour cherry and wild raspberry, earthy, really good acid, fine yet noticeable tannins, and a long finish—overall just a super elegant wine.

Postcards from Eric’s visit with Iría Otero!

We’re super excited to soon introduce a new Albariño from Iría Otero, a talented winemaker originally from A Coruña in northwest Spain. After earning her PhD in Enology, Iría spent years working as an enologist for various winemakers before starting her own microbodega in Leira, Ribeiro. With her extensive experience across different vineyards and wine styles, she now focuses on crafting low-intervention wines from Rías Baixas and Ribeiro.

Her small, mixed-parcel vineyards are home to 40-50+ year-old vines, growing indigenous grapes like Albariño, Treixadura, and Godello. Historically, Ribeiro was filled with small plots like hers, but as large wineries from other parts of Spain move in, these parcels are being bought up and replanted. Iría is helping to preserve these traditional small vineyards. In addition to farming her own vines, she collaborates with local organic growers to create elegant, minimal-intervention wines that are hand-harvested and spontaneously fermented with indigenous yeasts.

More than 100 yrs of tradition!

Specializing in sardines, harvested locally, and packed while fresh and in season. They also can mackerel, which is a by product of the harvest, about 7% of production. MSC sustainable, using purse seines not drag nets.

Handwork at all steps in the process.

The fish are cooked first in water baths before canning so that once canned they maintain beautiful texture.

Concious decisions to limit production to maintain highest quality, honor tradition, and support the generations of families that have worked with them.

Cans are tin not aluminum and specially lined to give the highest quality and longest shelf life. Still hand wrapped too.

All the spices, pickles, carrots, bayleaf are trimmed added to tins by hand.

Things could be done faster and cheaper but that’s not who they are or what they believe in!

RESTOCKED

Two incredible wines from our great friend Germán Blanco. @grblanco898 produces artisanal wines in El Bierzo, Ribera del Duero, and Rioja, with minimal intervention to honor the land he works with and showcase each region’s unique terroir. All of his grapes are grown sustainably and without chemicals, aged in variety of vessels such as concrete and amphorae, and left unfilitered with minimal added SO2 at bottling.

🧑‍🌾 Milú is Germán Blanco’s flagship wine, crafted from 100% Tempranillo grown at 870–908 meters above sea level in the clay-limestone soils of La Aguilera. The 58 year-old vineyards yield exceptional fruit, harvested by hand with strict selection. The wine undergoes fermentation in a mix of stainless steel tanks, open oak barrels, and large oak tubs, followed by 7 months of aging in used French oak barrels. Milú offers bright red fruit and subtle oak. Germán refers to it as a “vino de pueblo”—which he loosely translates to a wine for everyday and everyone. The wine is named after his son Lucas, whom he lovingly refers to as “Mi Lu” or “Milú.”

🚀 La Nave is a blend of 85% Mencía, with the remainder made up of Tintorera and Palomino, sourced from 75-year-old vines in the high-altitude vineyards of Albares de la Ribera. The Casa Aurora winery is a tribute to Germán’s great-grandmother, who raised him in the Villa de Albares where the wines are made. Aged for 13 months in a mix of foudres, French oak barrels, and stainless steel, this wine offers balaneced floral notes, fresh fruit, and mineral undertones. The wine’s soft mouthfeel is complemented by structured tannins, thanks to the region’s clay-rich soils and granitic rocks.

Sven Leiner and his wife Simone produce Demeter-certified biodynamic craft wines within the Kalmit Nature Preserve in Southern Pfalz, Germany. These wines are complex and pure, reflecting Leiner’s commitment to biodynamic farming and minimal intervention winemaking using indigenous yeasts. Each label celebrates one of the insects found in the vineyard where the wine was grown. @weingutleiner

🐞 2023 Handwerk Spätburgunder - 100% Pinot Noir. Aged for 9 months in oak barrels, it offers savory, dried cherry, earthy, and herbal notes. Fresh and delightfully ripe.

🐛 2022 Kalk.Boden Spätburgunder - A light, transparent single-vineyard Pinot Noir with lots of raspberries and sour cherries, enhanced by subtle spice and elegant notes from its aging in tonneaux. The calcareous minerality and delicate nutty hints add a fun depth and complexity to this one.

🌟2023 Branco: A co-ferment of Bical and Arinto, this fresh, crisp white has great minerality on the nose and lots of white pulp fruit. East-facing vineyards for both grapes help maintain freshness and acidity. Fermentation and 12 months of ageing take place in the same old oak.

🍊2023 Curtimenta: Curtimenta is the Portuguese word for ‘orange wine.’ The grapes (Arinto and Fernao Pires) are macerated on their skins for three weeks before fermentation. Beautiful light amber color with light notes of orange blossom, orange peel, apricot, and jasmine and good minerality.

😉2023 Nat’Cool: A stylistic homage to the cistercian monks who brought their winemaking tradition from France to Portugal in the 12th century. Nat’Cool wines, the brainchild of Dirk Niepoort, are meant to be fun, easygoing, naturally-made wines for everyday drinking. These are fresh, low-alcohol reds in one-liter bottles with minimal sulfur. 100% Castelão grapes that see a short maceration, giving way to juicy dark red fruits like plum and raspberry, with balanced acidity and an earthy finish. Awesome with a chill!

🧑‍🌾2023 Palheto: A traditional field blend of red and white grapes, which are co-fermented for a light, fresh, and easy-drinking wine. Careful selection of the best grapes from an old south-east facing parcel with rich clay and limestone soil. Notes of cherry and pear, along with floral and spicy hints.

The domaine is right next to Corbiéres, close to Spain, and just off the Pyrenees. High & windy elevation wines. 3 enclosed vineyards with different climates which give way to vibrant, tension-filled biodynamic wines with bright acidity and depth.

Grenache Gris, Tourbat, Carignan Blanc, Grenache Blanc and Macabeu for whites.

Carignan, Grenache, Mouvedre for Reds.
